It's been a week of catch-ups here at the blog, and I'm continuing the trend with one last follow-up post before we all have a well deserved weekend break. Last Wednesday I featured examples from the new wedding stationery collection of Rebecca Lancaster Designs (click here to see the post), and today we're taking another quick look at the new additions to Rebecca's range; this time the focus is on greetings cards. Rebecca specialises in design-led, handmade cards. Each design is hand-drawn before being digitally coloured for a quality finish and professionally printed; many of the designs are given an extra special touch with embellishments including buttons, gems, ribbon and glitter. The card collection has a wonderful selection of illustrated greetings with unique quirkiness and charm. I love the variety in the new designs which sees wild animals mixed with florals, and flower arrangements given a sketchy, almost abstract feel.
Rebecca Lancaster Designs are stocked nationwide, with prices starting from £2.00 per card. A list of stockists can be found on Rebecca's website. A selection of designs is also available to purchase direct from the website's online shop.
Following the completion of a degree in Jewellery Design, and eight years experience in fine jewellery production, Sarah Meredith founded Rock Cakes in 2008. Aiming to make "jewellery to fall in love with, treasure and keep forever"; Sarah uses her wealth of expertise to create original, handmade pieces using precious materials and traditional jewellery-making techniques.
Today's post is a pick of my favourite pieces from the Rock Cakes collection, designs I think would make gorgeous gifts for a friend or loved one. There is great variety in the range and I have chosen items from both ends of the price spectrum; investment pieces such as the Bird King Ring (above) which uses precious silver, 18ct yellow gold and black diamonds, and cute, affordable pieces such as the laser-cut, hand-painted Wooden Owl Brooch.
Inspired by everyday life Sarah never leaves home without her sketch book and camera for those moments when inspiration strikes. A childlike quality runs through the collection, which gives a delightful personality and playful feel to the jewellery designs. Take a closer look ...
Featured jewellery gifts: Bird King Ring, £146; Hedgehog Ring, £165; Scary Necklace with Pumpkin, Skull & Bone Pendants, £203; Wooden Fox Brooch, £8; Wooden Owl Brooch, £8; and Wooden Bicycle Necklace, £14. All of the pieces shown today are available to purchase from the Rock Cakes Etsy shop. (Prices has been converted from USD and rounded up to the nearest pound.)

The collection has 25 designs, each with their own funny, charming or sentimental phrase. The mix of inspirational, sweet, and adults-only phrases ensures there is a design for everyone and every occasion. It's been a little while since we last saw Rebecca Lancaster Designs on the blog. An oversight on my part that I'm happy to rectify. Since the last blog post back in March 2011(click here to see the original post) Rebecca has added wedding stationery to her collection of greetings cards. The handmade, vintage-inspired designs use cream or white linen card sourced from the Lake District, beautiful papers, ribbons, lace and crystals. The collection has a variety of beautiful designs to suit any wedding theme, from delicate embellished designs to invitations hand-painted with soft watercolour images.
The full collection of wedding stationery can be viewed on the Rebecca Lancaster Designs website, and a complete price list is available on request. Most invites are priced at £1.99 each, with mini invites priced at £1.65. A bespoke design service is also available. Click here to find out more.

For today's gift inspiration we're going straight to Paris, and one of my favourite design studios, the fabulous AK-LH. Their latest collection for the 2012-13 season is 'Techno'; a series of homewares and accessories that "pays tribute to the prehistory of our favourite medias". The humble cassette tape, boom box, TV test screen, and record player now decorate an array of unique, stylish gift products. A little bit geeky, and a little bit retro, the designs recreate a few of our favourite technological instruments from the 80's with bright colours and sharp graphics. I love the clash, created by the use of tech graphics on soft cushions, aprons and oven mitts. Take a look ...
