What is Card & Gift Blog?
Card & Gift Blog is a showcase for greeting cards and gifts from across the world. My humble mission is to promote the industry via the products themselves; by helping individual designers get their products 'out there' I can, at the same time, help buyers (trade and consumers) searching for unique gift ideas. Card & Gift Blog unites buyers and sellers in a friendly, informal blogging world.
Who writes / creates Card & Gift Blog?
That would be me, hello! My name is Charlotte, I research and write Card & Gift Blog. As you may have guessed, I'm very fond of greeting cards, gifts, stationery, gift wrap, design and illustration; which all come together in the card and gift industry. How does the blog work?
Having worked for a greeting card and gift designer for over six years I built up a solid base of 'insider-knowledge'. Since launching Card & Gift Blog in 2009, I've developed this further; expanding far beyond England, the blog has taken on the world! One of the things I love about the Internet is the ability to see everything. Card & Gift Blog, like the Internet is boundary-free. It doesn't matter where you are, if you're designing great cards or gifts you can feature on the blog.
With a background in research, I'd like to think I'm good at seeking out new designers and new products; but it's not a one-way thing, the blog is open to submissions day and night. Can I be featured on Card & Gift Blog?
If you have a greeting card or gift product then you're in with a chance! There's a whole world out there and it's going to take me a little while to get round everybody, so please feel free to help me out and send me a shortcut to your products – it will speed the whole process up no end.
What are you looking for?
Quite simply … I look for originality, quality and great design. Plus it helps if you're nice (I believe good customer service is important, if you're nice to me it's a good indication you will treat your customers well too).
I want to send you pictures of my new greeting cards / gifts, what format should they be?
To fit into the blog layout and look their best alongside all the other greeting card and gifts showcased images need to be 400 pixels wide. It works best if they are low-resolution, 72dpi and less than 100kb.
Can I send you samples of my products?
Yes, you can send samples, email me for a postal address.
Is there a waiting list to appear on the blog?
Yes. Due to the popularity of the blog there can be a wait to be featured. The waiting list varies depending on the seasons and the type of feature you are taking part in. At the moment I have about 4 -6 weeks of posts waiting to be published. If you have a deadline for an announcement get in touch and I will do my best to help you.
Do you accept guest bloggers?
I am looking at introducing guest bloggers, if this is of interest to you, get in touch!
Can I comment on a blog post?
YES!!! There is a link to leave comments at the bottom of each post and I absolutely love to read them. Comments are a huge help to the blogging world, helping us bloggers to get to know what you like. The more I know, the better I can give you the blog posts you want.
Can I advertise my business on your blog?
Advertisers are welcome to contact me. If you're product or business fits in with the blog, and may prove useful or interesting to our audience we'd happily welcome you to the Card & Gift Blog community.
How do I sponsor Card & Gift Blog?
Our sponsors are a lovely set of folks from the world of greeting cards and gifts. Currently the bunch includes gift designers, greeting card publishers, jewellery designers and independent retailers. If you want to join us, just send me an email and I'll tell you more. The only thing I would ask is that you should be related to the world of greeting cards or gifts, it would look a bit odd if there were adverts for sheet metal on a Card & Gift Blog.

Can I use text or images from Card & Gift Blog?
All of the images on the blog are provided by the original designers and are copyright protected, please do not copy them, you'll end up in a legal mess and it won't be fun. The text is created by myself, if you want to feature one of my posts please retain the whole post (don't pick and choose that would mess the context up), and you must cite Card & Gift Blog as the original source (it's only polite). Last but not least if you're linking or featuring Card & Gift Blog on your website, please do tell me I may be able to help you promote it further.
What happened to the old trends page?
I've moved all of the trends into special albums on our Pinterest page, and this is where the new trends page points. It's a much easier way to keep the feature up to date and add in new discoveries from around the industry. Every album is titled 'C&G Trends' so they're very easy to find.
